DES MOINES, Iowa --- Hamline University men's track and field had two field athletes make the cut to compete at the prestigious Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa this weekend. Sophomore jumper
Isaiah Watson (Fridley, Minn,) went to compete in the men's triple jump college/university group and junior pole vaulter
Austin Schloeder (Buffalo, Minn.) competed in the men's college/university group for pole vault.
Watson won the University/College Division Men's Triple Jump with a first place winning jump of 15.00m, a new personal-best and just 4 cm shy of the Hamline outdoor school record. He beat out multiple athletes from scholarship programs and will find out after the weekend concludes where his jump lands in the national rankings.
Schloeder placed 17th in a competitive field in the University/College Division Men's Pole Vault, comprised of all division level and included multiple scholarship programs. Schloeder finished with a final vault of 4.66m (15-3 ½).
