Junior Madeline Dopp showed she could give her all for her team last Saturday at the NCAA D-III Central Regional Cross Country Meet. 

Dopp led her fellow Pipers over a 6K course at Carleton College in Northfield that would serve to be a very satisfying finale of the 2017 Hamline Women’s Cross Country season.

Dopp’s  time of  22:48.5 topped all HU runners and placed her 35th out of 215 total runners. The junior’s efforts were critical in securing Hamline its 266 point, 10th place finish -  a significant 42 point improvement from last year.

This feat proves to be even more impressive considering Dopp’s place earned her All-Region status for the second year in a row.

Dopp is no stranger to leading her team out on the course. She was also the top Hamline finisher at the Tori Neubauer Invite October 14, placing 44th in the 298 runner field with a 23:41 time, as well as the MIAC Championships October 28, finishing 33rd at 23:47.4.

The Ogilvie, Minn. native will now take a brief break before beginning preparations for the indoor and outdoor track & field seasons. Dopp was second in the 3.000 Meter Steeplechase event at the MIAC Outdoor event held  last spring at Klas Field.
