If the MIAC didn't know it before, they do now. The
Saulsberry sisters are ready to run for glory at the MIAC Indoor Track and Field Meet next weekend.
Marolyn won twice and
Carolyn once as part of a five win effort that saw Hamline finish second at the Macalester Pre-Conference Meet with 123 points.
Marolyn sped to victory in the 200 Meters (26.83) and 400 Meters (1:00.05). Carolyn dashed to a win in the 60 Hurdles (9.25).
The Pipers also claimed crowns in a pair of field events.
Merina Lenz scored a triumph in the Triple Jump (32.8 feet) and
Jessica Putland threw the Weight 53-4, the best in the MIAC this winter by more than two feet. (Teammate
Erin Urbanowicz was second at 52-9).
In addition to her win in the Weight Throw, Putland was second in the Shot Put.
Georgia Koresh did likewise in the Long Jump as did
Dani Vitali in the 600 Meters and the 4 x 400 relay team of the Saulsberrys,
Andrea Haus and
Hope Hertz.
Haus also finished third in the 800 Meters.
