Marolyn and
Carolyn Saulsberry found the perfect way to stay warm on a cold, rainy day -- run very fast. The Minneapolis sisters each won an event as Hamline produced 12 top three finishers at their Twilight Meet held at Klas Field.
Marolyn bested the field in the 400 Meter Hurdles in a time of 1:05.38. She was also second in the 100 Meter Hurdles.
Carolyn leapt past the field to win the Triple Jump (35-08). She was also fourth in the 100 Meter Hurdles and was part of a 4 x 400 Meter Relay team.
Other top running efforts included
Hope Hertz, who zipped to third place in the 200 Meters (26.97) and that 4 x 400 team. In addition to Carolyn,
Emily Brown-Phillips, Andrea Haus and
Dani Vitali ran legs.
This was an unscored meet. Had scoring been in place, the Pipers would have claimed many points in the field events. Carolyn Saulsberry wasn't the only HU Triple Jumper who excelled.
Keelie Sorensen was third (32-11). HU also claimed the next five places in this event.
Georgia Koresh was second in the Long Jump (15-06.75).
Jessica Putland finished likewise in the Shot Put (40-02.75).
Alana Profit (121-07) and
Jerri Koltveit (118-06) went 2-3 in the Discus.
Erin Urbanowicz (141-06) and Putland (135-11) matched that feat in the Hammer.
