Hamline's women track and field team got off to a good start in a pair of nonscoring meets.
The runners went to Carleton where freshman
Izzy Shafer impressed with a pair of wins in the 55 Meters (7.62 seconds) and the 200 Meters (27.15).
Mikayla Hensch was third in the 55 Meters (7.9).
Danielle Zweifelhofer, also a freshman, was fourth in the 200 Meters (28.43).
Brianna Baker sped to victory in the 400 Meters in a time of 65.71 seconds.
The throwers went to the U of Minnesota where they competed against Division I and II foes.
Jessica Putland (pictured) was the top D-III performer in the Shot Put, finishing seventh with a 42-6 effort. In another flight,
Jerri Koltveit had a career best 40-7.75 for second place
and Erin Urbanowicz was third (39-1.75).
The entire team will be together for a meet at St. Thomas January 23.
