That was quite a field day for the Hamline track and field teams Saturday. The women won two events and had six other competitors in the top five. The men also won twice and nine other competitors make a top five.
Jessica Putland (pictured) won the Weight Throw with a 53-03.75 effort. She also took second in the Shot Put (43-01).
Erin Urbanowicz was third in the Shot Put (edging out teammate
Jerri Koltveit) and fifth in the Weight Throw.
Carolyn Saulsberry leaped to victory in the Long Jump with a 16-03.25 performance.
Georgia Koresh (third) and
Sara Nester (fifth) also finished in the top five. Koresh also was second in the Triple Jump.
On the men's side,
Jordan Steward won the Triple Jump in 43-08.50. He also tied for third in the High Jump.
Joey Grussing was second in the Weight Throw (50-05.25). He was sixth in the Shot Put, just behind
Travis Jacobson (fourth) and
Pierce Heston (fifth).
Mark Volker had a third place effort in the Pole Vault.
Emmanuel Kormah came in fourth in the Long Jump.
HU didn't send a lot of runners to River Falls. But one they did send --
Isaac Krause -- toppled the field in the 800 Meter Run in 2:00.71.
Cole Konczal was third in the same race.
The Pipers will compete at Bethel next weekend.
