W Track Wins Pair At Bethel

Carolyn Saulsberry had a big debut and Jessica Putland had a first and a second place finish to pace the Hamline women's/field effort at the Gene Glader Classic held at Bethel Saturday. 

Saulsberry (pictured, second from left) blitzed the field in the 60 Meter Hurdles, winning in 9.18 seconds. That is the top time in the MIAC this season and ranks 18th in the country. Putland won the Weight Throw with a 15.78 meter throw. She was also second in the Shot Put (12.48 m). 

The Pipers also got third place efforts from Erin Urbanowicz in the Weight Throw (15.06) and Jerri Koltveit in the Shot Put (12.11). Izzy Shafer had a pair of fourth place finishes in the 60 (8.12 seconds) and 200 Meters (27.15). The 4 x 400 relay team finished fourth in the unscored meet.
