Hamline won two events and stands in third place after the first full day of the MIAC Indoor Track & Field meet in Moorhead.
Jessica Putland equaled her season best with a 53-3.75 performance to take the Weight Throw competition. It was the second year in a row she has won this event. Â
Erin Urbanowicz was second with a 51-2.25 effort.
Carolyn Saulsberry (pictured) had the best time in the MIAC this year (and 26
th best in the country) when she zipped to a 9.09 timing in winning the 60 Meter Hurdles. Later, the junior took fifth in the Long Jump with a 16-5 ¼ leap. Â
Danielle Zweifelhofer was a close sixth with 16-4 ½.
Other notable efforts included: Â
Izzy Shafer's seventh place finish in the 60 Meters (8.07) and
Merina Lenz's 10
th place 9-9 outing in the pole vault.
The Pipers finished the day with 44 points, eight behind second place Bethel.
