Box Score Jordan Roderick-Fried made the most of her time on the field during Wednesday's women's soccer game against St. Scholastica. The freshman scored three goals in 32 minutes of playing time off the bench to lead Hamline to a 5-1 win over the Saints at Paterson Field. The Pipers improved to 8-5-2 overall in their final non-conference game of the season.
It was the first three goals of the Chicago, Ill. native's college career and was one of the features in a game that saw the Pipers score twice in just 71 seconds in the first half and have goalie
Melanie Hopkins earn a rare assist in the second.
Not much happened for the first 30 minutes of play.
Ellie Baxter then opened things up with a header out of a scrum in the front of the CSS net at 32:26. Shortly thereafter, Roderick-Fried (5)Â took a pass from Baxter and scored from virtually the same place on the field and it was 2-0 at halftime.
The Saints cut the lead in half at 58:44 but Roderick-Fried got that goal back less than two minutes later on an end-to-end dash. She finished off the season's first hat trick when she took Hopkins' long punt and unloaded a long shot that eluded the CSS goalie.
Brittany Beckman capped off the scoring when she wound a corner kick into the corner of the goal at 78:22.Â
Hopkins had six saves to earn her second win of the season and lower her goals-against average to 1.00.Â
