A little rain and wind didn't faze the Hamline women's track/field team Wednesday. The Pipers stood tall against tough opposition at the annual HU Invite at Klas Field.
Anna Donkhong won the Long Jump (16-11.25) to lead an impressive group of performances against D-III schools as well as the U of Minnesota.
Gabrielle Brown (15.19) and
Anna Futterer (15.50) went 2-3 in the 100 Hurdles.
Gabby Koel (137-04) was second and
Jessie Juenemann (pictured, 136-01) was fourth in the discus. Koel also finished fourth in the Shot Put (38-9.50).
Briana Berninghaus (26.89) was fourth and
Kristy Dellwo came in sixth (27.64) in the 200 Meters.
The 4 x 100 relay team of Donkhong,
Mikayla Hensch,
Izzy Shafer and Berninghaus came in a close second (49.84).
Other notable efforts included: Dani Zwiefelhofer (4th, Long Jump, 16-4.25), Futterer (5th, 100 Meters, 13.022) and
Kiana Verdugo (6th, Hammer, 140-03). The 4 x 400 team of
Marissa Fiecke, Dellwo,
Holly Hankins and Shafer placed fifth (4:07.92).
