LA CROSSE, WIS.—Members of the Hamline University track & field teams made a final push toward qualifying for outdoor nationals at the UW-La Crosse Last Chance Meet on Thursday.
For the women, Alexandra Maddux made a statement in the 800 meter run, where she claimed first place with a time of 2:10.93 that puts her at No. 12 in NCAA Division III. Emma Mader crossed the finish line at 19:05.67 in the 5000 meter run, good enough for 11th place.
The discus saw Jenneel Rodney prevail with a fifth-place mark of 44.07m, followed by Madison Reed's 10th-place toss of 40.70m. Rodney's throw is tied for 16th in NCAA Division III.
The men were highlighted by Joshua Thomsen's first-place time of 53.33 in the 400 meter hurdles. Christian Velishek (6.97m), and Michael Braun (6.38m) came through with fifth and 13th-place marks in the long jump, respectively. Sam Dabrowski registered a seventh-place toss of 46.75m in the javelin.
The 2022 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship selections will be announced on Friday, May 20 at www.ncaa.com.
