ORLANDO, FL -- Both Piper Tennis squads took care of business in their first match in Florida.
Hamline Tennis proved to be too much for the Salve Regina Seahawks, with the Piper men beating a winless men's Seahawks squad by a convincing 7-2 margin, and the women earning a 6-3 result in the same column.
Two huge comeback wins at number two and three for women's doubles set the tone, and wins from Ashley Pitzen, Christine Muller, Vanessa Pham, and Elanna Kohner in close singles matches brought the Pipers past a good opponent 6–3. The men played impressively and cruised to a 7–2 victory, sweeping doubles and adding singles victories from
Isaac Hultberg,
Elijah Krause,
Surprise Taylor, and
Keegan Terrone.
The Piper men land at 6-4 on the season, while women improve their record to 5-5.
Both teams will compete against the Susquehanna River Hawks on March 14 in Orlando.
