Molly Meyers' Shot Put Title Highlights Pipers at MIAC Outdoor Championship

SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University track & field teams hosted the 2024 MIAC Outdoor Championship at Klas Field on Friday and Saturday. The women took seventh place with 37.50 points, while the men notched 11th place with 16 points.

WOMEN
Molly Meyers claimed the MIAC Outdoor Shot Put Title with a toss of 13.85m. Meyers gave Hamline their seventh MIAC Outdoor Shot Put Champion in school history, and the first since Savanna Kaiser in 2018. Lexi Brainer earned All-MIAC Honorable Mention with her fourth-place toss of 39.28 in the discus, as did Madison Reed with a fifth-place mark of 38.83m. Reed also claimed honorable mention in the hammer throw, where she notched fourth place with a 49.19m. 

Sixth place was in the cards for Terra McMahon, who crossed the finish line at 12.66 in the 100 meter hurdles. McMahon kept the sixth-place trend going with a leap of 5.32m in the long jump.

MEN
Michael Braun earned his second-straight MIAC Outdoor All-Conference standing in the high jump, where he notched a career-best 1.96m, good enough for third place. Braun notched All-MIAC Honorable Mention for the second-consecutive season in the triple jump with a sixth-place leap of 13.00m.

The Pipers will compete in various last chance meets over the next week with hopes of qualifying for the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship on May 23-25.
