Tyler Johnson Named to D3baseball.com Team of the Week For February 24 - March 2

D3BASEBALL.COM TEAM OF THE WEEK RELEASE (WEEK 3)

SAINT PAUL, MINN.--Hamline University fifth year first baseman Tyler Johnson was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week. This is Johnson's second career trip to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week, also earning the distinction on March 3, 2024.

Johnson finished the week with a .476 batting average (10-of-21) that included 11 RBI, three doubles, two home runs, three stolen bases, nine runs scored, and zero strikeouts. He went 3-for-4 on two occasions that included one double, five RBI, and three runs scored in a 14-4 (7 innings) win over Martin Luther on February 28; as well as one home run, one double, and two RBI in an 11-5 (7 innings) loss to Nebraska Wesleyan on February 27. Johnson, who has an eight-game hit streak dating back to last season, accumulated a .970 fielding percentage that included 31 putouts and one assist over 33 chances throughout the six-game week. He was also named MIAC Baseball Player of the Week on March 3.

Something is in the water for Johnson when he faces Martin Luther as he owns a .593 (16-of-27) batting average, 12 RBI, 10 doubles, six stolen bases, 13 runs scored, and zero strikeouts throughout six career games against them.

Johnson and the Pipers will travel to Decatur, Ill on Saturday, March 8 against Millikin at 10 a.m., and UW-Stout at 1 p.m.
