Andrew Ferguson had quite an interesting weekend. The senior got quite the workout last Thursday and Friday, coming in fourth after finishing all 10 events in the MIAC Decathlon event held at Carleton College.
Ferguson won the 100 Meter Hurdles in a time of 15.52 seconds. He came in second in the 400 Meter Dash and was third in the 1500 Meter Run. In all, he totaled 5,668 points, setting a new school record by one point.
On Sunday, he capped the big weekend by being named a winner of the William Cloon Award, given annually to the top two athletes (one male, one female) who have excelled on and off their chosen field of competition.
Ferguson may get a chance to improve on these laurels this weekend when the Pipers take part in the MIAC Track & Field Meet at St. Olaf College.
