The Hamline men's tennis team ran into some rugged competition Saturday in St. Peter.
The Pipers lost to UW-Eau Claire and Gustavus Adolphus by 9-0 scores Saturday.
Dylan Sperry played well but lost his No. 1 singles battle, 7-5, 6-3. Later, Sperry and Sam Peterson came up just short in No. 1 doubles, 8-5.
Against the perennial power Gusties (ranked 18th in the country), it was Brandon Keuther at No. 5 singles who came the closest to victory, losing 6-4, 6-1.
Hamline is now 1-3, 1-1 in the MIAC. They face Northwestern Feb. 21.
