The HU men's tennis team found out Friday why Carleton is nationally ranked. The Pipers stretched the No. 17 Knights out on several occasions but dropped a 9-0 decision at Holt Courts.Â

Matt Seracki pushed their opponents to tiebreakers at No. 3 and 5 singles respectively. Jahrig recovered from a 6-1 loss in the first set for a solid 6-3 win to force a third set, a 10-5 loss. Seracki followed a similar route, losing the opening battle by 6-0 before turning the table swith an impressive 6-1 win. The tiebreaker was a battle from the start with Seracki hanging tough in a 10-7 loss.Â
David Yanagita also gave his foe a rough go of it befoe losing by 6-3, 6-4 scores. The doubles team of Seracki andÂ
Sam Peterson came the closest at No. 2 with an 8-5 setback.Â
Hamline, 8-9 overall, finishes the season Monday against Macalester at Holt Courts. The match begins at 4:30 p.m.Â
