It was oh-so-close for the Hamline men's tennis team Saturday at Holt Courts. The Pipers lost three tiebreakers -- including one by 14-12 -- in a 5-4 loss to St. Mary's Saturday.
The HU doubles teams swept the Cardinals with the number one tandem of David Yanagita and Cody Jahrig scoring an impressive 8-2 decision.Â
But both lose tiebreakers at singles -- Yanagita by 10-8 and Jahrig by 10-7.
Gabe Guarin won his singles match with a pair of 6-1 triumphs. Ben Klimek rallied from a 6-3 loss for a 6-3 win and chased his number six singles opponent all over the place before losing the 14-12 finale.
Hamline is 7-11 overall. They face St. John's on April 21 at Holt. The match begins at 4:00 p.m.Â
