Progress comes in many forms. For the Hamline men's tennis team, it came in the form of a 9-7 win at Holt Court in No.1 men's doubles over league leader Carleton by
David Yanagita and
Matt Seracki. It was the Pipers' lone point in an 8-1 loss to then Knights, who are undefeated in MIAC action and stand 14-2 overall.
There were, however, a few other matches that nearly tipped Hamline's way. In singles,
Cody Jahrig at No. 3 and
Gabriel Guarin at No. 6 took their opponent to a tiebreaker before giving way. Jahrig won his initial set 6-4 before dropping 6-2 and 10-6 decision. Guarin rebounded from a 6-2 first set loss to win the second by the same score. He lost the tiebreaker, 10-3. Hamline is 7-8 overall, 2-4. They face St. John's on April 18 in Collegeville.
