There were a few tight squeezes along the way but the Piper men's tennis team moved back within a game of .500 in the MIAC with a 7-2 win over Concordia Saturday at Holt Courts.
Cody Jahrig improved his singles record to 9-2 and the tandem of
Gabriel Guarin and
Ben Klimek improved their doubles mark to 9-3 for HU, which is now 2-3 in the MIAC.
The Pipers swept all three doubles matches.
David Yanagita and
Matt Seracki hung tough for a 9-7 win at No. 1. Guarin and Klimek rolled to an 8-2 win at No. 2 and the duo of Jahrig and
Mark Johnson had an 8-1 win at No. 3. Jahrig, Johnson, Seracki and Guarin won at singles. Johnson and Guarin had to stretch to do so with both players winning in three sets.
Later in the day, the Pipers dropped an 8-1 decision to Wis-Eau Claire. Johnson had the lone singles win for Hamline, which is 6-8 overall.
