It was a very good day for HU men's tennis team Saturday at Baseline Tennis Center. The Pipers upped their record to 3-1 with an 8-1 win over Dubuque and a 5-0 blanking of Bethany Lutheran.
Five Pipers --
Jake Trondson,
Ben Klimek,
Gabriel Guarin,
Matt Seracki and
Christopher Bale -- all scored wins in singles and doubles against the Spartans. Bale, playing No. 3 and Klimek at No. 6 had the most impressive wins with 6-0 and 6-1 sweeps of their opponents.
Seracki and Trondson continued to be solid at No. 1 doubles with an 8-1 win.
The doubles brigade put the wood to BLC early. In addition to Seracki and Trondson winning again, Klimek and Guarin (pictured) took their No. 2 match by an 8-1 count and Bale and
Gabriel Lopez blanked their No. 3 foe, 8-0. After Seracki and
Nazeer Robinson won their singles matches, HU had a 5-0 lead and that was that.
The Pipers start MIAC play February 23 against St. John's at Baseline. The match begins at 8:00 p.m.
