It was about as close as you can get. The HU men's tennis team lost two doubles nailbiters and it proved costly in a 5-4 loss to St. Mary's Saturday at Baseline Tennis Center at the U of Minnesota. 

The pairing of Jake Trondson and Matt Seracki won their match at No. 1, 8-0. Gabriel Guarin and Brandon Kuether fell, 9-7, at No. 2 and the Christopher Bale/Ben Klimek duo came even closer, falling by a slim 9-8 (7-4) score. Trondson (No. 1), Guarin (No. 5) and Klimek (No. 6) won their singles matches in straight sets.

The Pipers go north Sunday to take on Concordia in Moorhead. The match begins at 1:00 p.m.
