Gabriel Guarin fought his way to a dramatic win at No. 5 singles and Ben Klimek delivered a straight set triumph for Hamline in a 6-3 men's tennis loss at Concordia Sunday. Guarin lost a 7-6 tiebreaker game by a 7-4 margin to start his match. He recovered for a 7-5 second set win and then took the third set by 10-7. Klimek had an easier time of it with 6-4 and 6-3 wins. Jake Trondson and Matt Seracki showed their status as one of the top doubles teams in the conference with an 8-2 win at No. 1.

Trondson started his No. 1 singles match well with a 6-2 win but then dropped a 7-6 (8-6) second set and the deciding third set by 10-7.

The Pipers are 8-7 overall, 0-6 in the MIAC. They are scheduled to play their first match of the season on Holt Court April 25 against St. Olaf.
