Jake Trondson finished his first season of tennis the way he spent most of it -- winning matches. The sophomore won his singles match and then teamed up with
Matt Seracki for a doubles win as the men's team wrapped up the 2018 season with a 5-4 loss to Bethel at Holt Courts Saturday.
Trondson's 6-3, 6-2 win gave him a 12-3 won-loss mark -- pretty good numbers for a No. 1 singles player. He and Seracki toughed out a 9-7 win at No. 1 doubles. The pair finished the year 13-4 as a team.
Ben Klimek continued his late season surge with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles. It was the sixth straight singles victory for the senior, ending his season with a 9-2 mark. Hamline's other win came in doubles as the No. 2 team of
Brandon Kuether and
Christopher Bale won a 9-8 nailbiter.
In addition, it was the final match for Seracki and
Gabriel Guarin.
Hamline finished the season with an 8-10 overall, 0-9 in the MIAC.
