The HU men's tennis team came within a whisker of defeating St. Thomas for the first time in a decade. The Pipers won three singles matches and came close to winning a second doubles match before falling, 5-4, to the Tommies in Lakeville Sunday night. 
Jake Trondson, Brandon and 
Blake Kuether all earned singles wins. Trondson and 
Blake Kuether won in straight sets while 
Brandon Kuether rallied after dropping a 6-0 first set for a 6-4 win and a 10-6 triumph in the tiebreaker. Trondson and 
Matt Seracki earned a hard fought win at No. 1 doubles, 8-5. 
Gabriel Guarin and 
Nazeer Robinson came close in No. 3 doubles, losing a 9-7 set. 
Hamline is 7-4 overall, 0-3 in MIAC play. They are scheduled to hit the court again on Thursday, April 12 at Northwestern.
