Jake Trondson,
Elias Ramirez and
Nazeer Robinson won two matches apiece as the Hamline men's tennis team won its first MIAC match of the season, overwhelming Concordia, 7-2, Sunday night at Baseline Tennis Center.
Trondson swept to victory at No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-1 decision. He also teamed with
Tou Ger Xiong for a 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles. Ramirez blitzed his way to a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at No. 2 singles. The freshman joined Robinson (pictured) for an impressive 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles.
Robinson shook off a 6-3 first set loss for a 7-5 win and then took the tie breaker by 10-6 at No. 4 singles.
The Pipers are now 1-6 in MIAC matches, 8-10 overall. The scheduled April 16 match at Minn-Morris has been postponed. The Pipers return to the court April 26 at St. John's.
