M Tennis Wins First MIAC Match

Jake Trondson, Elias Ramirez and Nazeer Robinson won two matches apiece as the Hamline men's tennis team won its first MIAC match of the season, overwhelming Concordia, 7-2, Sunday night at Baseline Tennis Center. 

Trondson swept to victory at No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-1 decision. He also teamed with Tou Ger Xiong for a 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles. Ramirez blitzed his way to a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at No. 2 singles. The freshman joined Robinson (pictured) for an impressive 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles. 

Robinson shook off a 6-3 first set loss for a 7-5 win and then  took the tie breaker by 10-6 at No. 4 singles. 

The Pipers are now 1-6 in MIAC matches, 8-10 overall. The scheduled April 16 match at Minn-Morris has been postponed. The Pipers return to the court April 26 at St. John's.
