Senior Spotlight: Sydney Dynneson

Despite having their seasons cut short, the Hamline athletic department would like to recognize and honor the 2020 senior spring class of student-athletes. These 37 individuals have made a lasting impact on their program and the Hamline campus as a whole. Sydney Dynneson   |   Lacrosse   |   Sociology Major

Sydney Dynneson has been a powerful offensive threat for the Hamline lacrosse team for the past three years. She currently sits fourth on the team's all-time scoring list, with 128 points, tallying all of those points in just three seasons. During her junior season, Dynneson led the team in goals with 45, helping the team compile a 19-2 record, including going 11-0 in conference play. In 2018, Dynneson was tied for the second-most goals on the team with 31 and during her rookie season she recorded 23 goals and nine assists. Dynneson has been a part of two regular season championships, three postseason MWLC championships, three NCAA Tournament appearances, and the team's first-ever NCAA Tournament win that happened in 2019. Academically, Dynneson has been named to the MWLC All-Academic Team in the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

 

What were you most looking forward to for this spring season?

I was looking forward to playing home games!    

 

What is one of your favorite memories of your time at Hamline?

One of my favorite memories is going to nationals three years in a row!

 

Who is someone who has had a positive impact on you during your time as a student-athlete?

My parents have been supportive no matter what.

 

What is your advice for your younger teammates?

Always have a competitive mindset.

 

What are you most proud of about your career as a student-athlete?

I am most proud of being part of such a great team and culture.
