Pipers Open Outdoor Season at Central Invite

RESULTS

PELLA, IOWA—The Hamline University track & field teams opened their outdoor season at the Central (Iowa) Invite on Friday. Fourteen teams from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, NJCAA and NCCAA took part in the meet.

Alexandra Maddux continued to make us sound like a broken record, as she took home the women's 800 meter run title with a time of 2:16.21. Libby Roberdeau crossed the finish line at 19:23.74 in the 5000 meter run, which secured her second place out of five competitors.

Madison Reed engineered the women throwers with a sixth-place toss of 47.36 in the hammer.

The men were led by Michael Braun's second-place leap of 13.49m in the triple jump. Braun kept up his stellar performance in the long jump, where he finished tied for seventh place with a 1.85m.

Aric Brodie commanded the men's distance group with a sixth-place time of 10:16.66 in the 3000 meter steeplechase. Lucas LiaBraaten highlighted the Pipers in the 5000 meter run, where he crossed the finish line at 16:30.25 en route to eighth place.

The Pipers will return to action at the Bethel Invitational on Saturday, April 15.
