The MIAC Cross Country championship race is still several weeks away. One person who has given indication her name could be among those listed on the leader board is HU junior Bernadette Hayden. 

The Onalaska, Wash. native made a great first impression with a 10th place finish at the Luther All-American Invitational in Decorah, Iowa on September 8. Hayden negotiated the 5K course in 19:34.8. Only two D-III runners were ahead of her in the 105 competitor field. 

Hayden and the Pipers will be back running this Saturday, September 15 as well. They will be running in the 6K Augsburg Invitational at Hyland Greens Golf Course in Bloomington, Minn. The race begins at 10:30 a.m.
