Pipers Complete MSU-Mankato Open & Multi

DAY ONE RECAP

MANKATO, MINN.—The Hamline University men's and women's track & field teams embarked on day two of the MSU-Mankato Mark Schuck Open & Multi on Saturday. The women registered 10th place out of 15 teams with 36 points, while the men notched 10th place out of 12 squads with 10 points. The host Mavericks claimed the women's (222.5 points) and men's (243 points) titles.

It was another day at the office for Alexandra Maddux, who crossed the finish line at 2:22.44 en route to first place. Jalisa Mathews followed Maddux in ninth place with a 2:38.78.

Jen Valley led the way in the high jump with a seventh-place leap of 5.30m. Lindsey Bernardy was effective in the 600 meter dash, where she registered eighth place with a 1:44.98. Alicia Maddux came through with a 12th-place mark of 11:21.25 in the 3000 meter run. Madison Reed kept the 12th place trend alive in the weight throw with a 14.91m.

The men were paced by Michael Braun's seventh-place leaps of 1.90m in the high jump, and 13.65m in the triple jump.

The Pipers will compete at the University of Minnesota Gopher Classic on Saturday, February 4.
