Pipers Compete at St. Thomas Twilight

SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University track & field teams made the short trip to former MIAC foe St Thomas to compete in the Tommie Twilight on Wednesday night.

Alexandra Maddux was the top NCAA Division III finisher in the women's 800 meter run with a 2:13.39, good enough for second place. Lindsey Bernardy paced the mid-distance group with an eighth-place time of 1:00.07 in the 400 meter dash. Bernardy, Lucy Hoelscher, Maddux, and Ashley Grabau took fifth in the 4x400 meter relay with a 4:03.67. The 400 meter hurdles was all Katie Danielzuk, who took fifth place with a 1:09.29.

Michael Braun prevailed with a fourth-place mark of 1.91m in the high jump, and a fifth-place leap of 6.24m in the long jump for the men. Andrei Pettis (11.28) and Reece Thomas (11.28) were toe-for-toe in the 100 meter dash in ninth and 10th place, respectively. Thomas kept that momentum alive in the 200 meter dash with a seventh-place time of 22.82.

Up next for the Pipers is the MIAC Multi-Championships tomorrow, Friday, May 4 - Saturday May 5 at Carleton.
