SAINT PAUL, Minn. --- Hamline men's and women's track and field put together a productive day at the Macalester Vanessa Seljeskog Classic, highlighted by event wins, meet records, and multiple nationally ranked performances.
The men were led by a standout effort from sophomore Isaiah Watson, who won the triple jump with a meet-record mark of 14.30m, a jump that ranks inside the top 25 nationally in Division III. Senior Austin Schloeder continued his strong indoor season by winning the pole vault at 4.65m, setting a meet record and moving into the national top 20. In the horizontal jumps, Josiah Budiman (6.52m) and Watson (6.36m) combined for a fifth- and sixth-place finish in the long jump, while Morris Suah added points with a sixth-place showing in the 60-meter hurdles (8.70). Doug Gill paced the throwers with a seventh-place finish in the weight throw at 15.18m.
On the women's side, senior Lexi Brainer delivered another dominant performance, winning the weight throw with a meet-record toss of 16.46m that ranks among the top 15 in Division III. Brainer also added a fourth-place finish in the shot put (12.34m). Junior Anabel Bradley led the distance group with a third-place, personal-best run in the 1,000 meters (3:05.65), while freshman Mabel Badejo impressed in the field, placing eighth in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 5.25m that earned a national ranking. Savannah Brown led the pole vault group with a fifth-place clearance of 3.05m.
Hamline also saw solid depth across the board in sprints, middle distance, and relays, with multiple freshmen gaining valuable experience as the Pipers continue to build momentum through the indoor season.
