NORTHFIELD, Minn. --- Hamline men's and women's track and field turned in a strong showing at the MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Carleton College, highlighted by conference titles, All-MIAC performances, and nationally ranked marks.
The Pipers were led by conference champions
Austin Schloeder and
Isaiah Watson on the men's side. Schloeder cleared 4.68m (15-4.25) to win the pole vault, earning 10 team points while posting a mark that ranks No. 50 nationally in Division III this season. Watson captured the triple jump title with a leap of 14.44m (47-4.50), a performance that ranks No. 28 in Division III and added another 10 points to Hamline's total.
Senior
Josiah Budiman added a fourth-place finish in the long jump (6.77m) to score five points, while junior
Morris Suah placed fourth in the 55-meter hurdles final in 7.85 after qualifying third in prelims. The men's 4x200 relay team also scored with a seventh-place finish (1:33.23).
On the women's side, senior
Lexi Brainer delivered a standout championship performance. She placed second in the weight throw with a toss of 17.37m (57-0), earning eight points and moving to No. 12 nationally in Division III. Brainer also added a fourth-place finish in the shot put (12.23m) for five more points. Senior
Brooke Tracy contributed in the weight throw as well, finishing seventh.
Freshman
Mabel Badejo scored in the long jump with a fifth-place leap of 5.26m (17-3.25), while the women's 4x200 relay placed fifth (1:46.45) and the 4x400 relay added a seventh-place finish (4:10.75).
Sophomore
Claire Siems qualified for the 55-meter final and placed seventh, while junior
Anabel Bradley posted a 1:39.64 in the 600 meters, a mark that ranks among the top 70 nationally in Division III this season.
Hamline also saw strong multi-event efforts from
Alan Haglin (heptathlon) and
Brooke Baumann (pentathlon), with Baumann winning the pentathlon 800 meters and placing fourth in the pentathlon shot put. Haglin finished 14th in overall in the heptathlon and Baumann finished 9th overall in the pentathlon.
Overall, the Pipers combined conference titles, podium finishes, and nationally competitive marks in a well-rounded performance at the MIAC Championships.
