He had to do it two separate ways. But  sophomore goalie John Sellie-Hanson provided some real leadership in goal last weekend for the Hamline men's hockey team at thw MIAC Hockey Showdown in Blaine.

On Saturday, he came in the game in the middle of the second period with his team down 5-0. Sellie-Hanson steadied the ship, allowing only one goal the rest of the way in a 6-2 loss to St. John's.

That earned him the starting nod the next day agaijhst preseason favorite St. Thomas. Sellie-Hanson from sharp from the onset, handling shot sin double digits all three period. He stopped 36 shots in all and came within 3:30 of his first college shutout in a 2-1 win. 

For the weekend, John finished with 53 saves, a 1.32 GAA and a gaudy .964 save percentage. 

Sellie-Hanson and his mates now play at home this weekend against UW-Stout (November 7) and UW-River Falls (November 8). Both games at Oscar Johnson Arena are slated for 7:00 p.m. faceoffs.
