Good leadership takes many forms. Briana Bridgeford is one of just two seniors on the Hamline gymnastics team. So it fell to her (and fellow senior Andrea Gross) to show the new kids on the block just how things are done.

This includes a lot of off the mat stuff. And then thewre are times like last Sunday when you simply go out there and show them how to do it. So it was that Briana did just that in winning the Uneven Parallel Bars competition in her last home meet as a Piper on February 14 against Gustavus Adolphus before a thrilled crowd at Hutton Arena.

The Grand Forks, ND native scored a 9.175 to edge out teammate Madison Couves and Gustavus' Alex Kopp, who registered 9.150 to win the event outright. It was the Pipers' lone triumph in a 183.400-181.725 setback. 

Briana and the Pipers have two more meets before heading to the WIAC/NCGA West regional next month. They return to action this Friday, February 19 at Winona State. The meet begins at 6:30 p.m.
