When it comes to Hamline Volleyball assists, no one made an impact this season quite like freshman Megan Rubbelke.

In the final three matches of the season alone, Rubbelke had a total of 105 assists, helping the Pipers to victory in the two blowouts against Wisconsin-Superior (3-1) and Macalester (3-0) last Saturday.  She was especially prevalent in the Wisconsin-Superior match with 51 assists, a season high. Rubbelke also contributed 3 service aces and 23 digs last week. 

Noteworthy performance is something that has been consistent of Rubbelke this season; in the last seven matches Rubbelke can boast double-digit assists. She finished the season with an impressive total of 399 assists, leading the Pipers and ranking 15th in MIAC.

As the fourth member of her family to become a Hamline athlete and the daughter of Hamline Softball coach Jim Rubbelke, athletic prowess is no stranger in Rubbelke’s family. Ol,der brother Joe was an All-American hockey player here. Older sister Jamie was a two-sport star in volleyball and softball. Megan's brother Nate is a junior piotcher on the piper baseball team. If past history is any indication, the Pipers look forward to Megan's first step in what could be a very successful Hamline athletic career.  She intends to play softball for HU this spring.
