Setting a school record in an event like the 600 Meters is difficult enough to attain. Doing that and registering the best time this season by a MIAC runner is quite a daily double.

But that is what Hamline senior Will Warmka did last Saturday at the Meet of Hearts held at Carleton College in Northfield. Warmka's time of 1:21.93 set a new HU standard and is the top time recorded by any MIAC performer this winter. 

Warmka was one of seven individuals who won events Saturday as the Pipers sped to victory in the meet. He won his race by a second and a half over Carleton's Ben Withbroe. it is also a half-second better than St. Thomas' Dan Kremer's 1:22.49 (Ironically, Hamline's Isaac Krause is third at 1:23.08). 

Warmka and his mates continue their countdown towards next month's MIAC Indoor T & F Meet this weekend. The men will split up with some participants going to the U of Minnesota for the Snowshoe Open while others will compete in a meet at St. John's. Both will take place Saturday, February 21.
