It was an impressive opening week for the Pipers men's basketball team this past week. In a span of eight days the team played four games, and ended up going 3-1 in those games. A bright spot for the team was junior point guard Zach Smith.

Through the first four games, the Burnsville, Minn. native is second in the MIAC in scoring at 23.8 points per game. Zach has grabbed 4.5 rebounds and has dished out three assists a game. He also is leading the MIAC in free throw percentage at an impressive 94.6 per cent clip.

The Pipers will be at the comfort of Hutton Arena to start the conference season this week. They will host Augsburg on Wednesday, November 30 for a 7:00 p.m start against the Auggies. On Saturday December 3, the Pipers will host the Royals from Bethel University for a 3:00 p.m start.
