Things have changed a bit with the Hamline women's soccer program. There is a new head coach in Emily Cripe. Thanks to graduation, there are new goalies and several new players in the lineup.Â
Some things, though, have stayed the same -- like Kaley Roberts  being a constant scoring presence. The sophomore, who tied for the lead in goals last year with nine, is nearly halfway to that total this year in a span of just four games. She has four already -- three of which came last week as HU won a pair of games, defeating Wis-River Falls, 3-2, and Minnesota-Morris, 7-1.Â
Roberts was  a major factor in the road win over the Falcons. The game was tied at 1 early in the second half when Roberts broke free for an unassisted tally. The Washington state native made everybody breathe a little easier with her second of the game with 6:49 left. The goal turned out to be important when WRF came back with a tally 80 seconds later.Â
Last Saturday, Roberts snuffed out any ideas the Cougars had of a comeback with a second half goal that made the score 5-1 and put the game out of reach. Her four goals places her in a tie for third place among MIAC players.Â
It's on to MIACÂ play now. Hamline opens at Macalester Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. Carleton visits Paterson Field next Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
